Hi Anders. I have a suggestion that might help prevent messes like this in
the future. Before editing any system component MAKE A COPY of the original
file and rename it with a ".old" extension. At this point since you don't
have a kickerrc.old file to rename kickerrc, you might try logging in as
ROOT and copying the kickerrc file for your root or another account and then
using chown/chmod to change ownership and or permissions on that file. You
may also find it very beneficial to make a copy of your home directory and
rename it something like "prototype" "{accountname}Backup" etc. This will
protect you in any event, and if you regularly backup you can "experiment"
with your files with a great degree of safety. Max.
