I am evaluating methods for automatic, noninteractive update. For this I've been experimenting with apt4rpm and fou4s. On a machine with 7.3: New kdeadmin: 2.2.2-45 (old: 2.2.0-70) [optional, 928kB] Getting k2de9/kdeadmin.rpm Warning: Downloaded RPM has version 2.2.2-79, but package description says 2.2.2-45! Not installing kdeadmin.rpm (same or newer version already installed). apt4rpm, downloads 150+ MB of rpms with same versions and different minor numbers. I'm fairly new to SuSE, and therefore I still have the fresh perspective to observe that the issue with the different minor numbers of rpms SUCKS in regard to automatic updating. This is not fou4s' or apt4rpm's fault, but what's the reason for this mess? Is there really a difference between rpms with different minor numbers? Because if it is then, fine, I can understand that. -- Silviu Marin-Caea Systems Engineer Linux/Unix http://www.genesys.ro Phone +4093-267961
