Grreeeat.. Finally got around to install 8.0 on my routing machine - old Celeron 500 with HP's DVD drive.. And got fingered by 8.0 DVD.. I couldnt boot from it. Pulled out my old 7.1 DVD - boots nicely. 8.0 - drive reports error and goes for HDD. Checked on other computer - 8.0 DVD boots.. WTF? 8( Also its really pissing me off that SuSE keep using really shitty CD media - ones that got scratched after one-two uses easily.. How come? Its not like that stuff worth tons of money to get.. 8( I mean i dont have problems to copy entire 7 CD sets all the time to preserve the original - but it feels kind of funky - price of ownership for SuSE"s Linux comes to be in fact a bit more than Win2K - couldnt could how many times i used their CD - and it still doesnt have any scratches. Yeah it doesnt come with tons of software, but i also not up to buying it every 6-12 months to get new release (so i wouldnt have to spend rest of my life resolving all the issues, isnt it?.. Not that i am leaning into the side of Windows heck no. I just really wish SuSE would pay some attention to such things as media quality. Sighs.
