I'm trying to implement anti spam measures in my suse server. Does anyone have experiences to share with regards to this problem? sendmail has many anti spam FEATURES which do not appear in the Yast2 configuration program. Turning them on would be a blessing, but it's not so easy as I'm finding out. It appears that Yast2 and SuSEconfig actually are a deterrents in this regard.
Remember that RBL in sendmail won't help you unless your system is a real Internet mail server. AFAIK, the RBL checks incoming mail connections from open relays and known spammers. If you are downloading your mail, from fetchmail for example from your ISP, the connections will always come from fetchmail to your local MTA and will never catch the open relay connections, since the spam has already been delivered to your ISP. If you are receiving mail for you own domain, then it is definitely worthwhile. Best Regards, Keith -- LPIC-2, MCSE, N+ Got spam? Get spastic http://spastic.sourceforge.net
