Yup! All the images are there. Keyboard, Power Sign, world, etc... That's the part that really getting me! I'm yelling at my computer...Look! It's right there! Work with me a 'bit here! I've got the directory, the pictures, Bootsplash=yes in bootconfig (via YAST2), vga=791. The only thing I think I'm missing is the framebuffer link. I think that's what's causing it, but I can't be sure. If read all the posts on how to get the Bootsplash working. Well, none has helped. I have it installed (8.0) and loaded. Still all I get is the little penguin on the top left. I can only assume that I don't have my framebuffer setup.
Can someone shed some light on this? I just managed to the the penguin working last night. I'm a bit hesitant to play with the framebuffer setup.
I know this is not the most critical thing on this group, but anyone's 2-cents would be appreciated.

Tom, I wondered about this same thing while using 7.2 & 7.3 after updating my kernels a couple of times. I enjoyed the Tux in the upper left corner, but I still missed my backgrounds and splash screens. After some investigation and hints from others, I found I was missing my bootsplash directory! The location of the bootsplash in 7.3 was /usr/share/splash/bootsplash and there resided all my pictures and animations for the the bootup. I don't remember the total size but do remember all the files would not fit on a floppy. Check there first for your files. I think with the kernel updates, etc. it gets erased or moved, so you may have to create it and add the pictures you want to use.
