Running SuSE linux 7.3 with kernel built from kernel-source-2.4.18.SuSE-67.i386.rpm: Anyone know where I can get a version of the pcmcia cs sources that will compile under the latest kernel sources from Hubert Mantel's ftp dir? Seems some function call interfaces changed between kernel-source-2.4.18.SuSE-0.i386.rpm and kernel-source-2.4.18.SuSE-27.i386.rpm [and the most recent kernel-source-2.4.18.SuSE-67.i386.rpm], rendering pcmcia-3.1.28-86.src.rpm (the latest version I've found for 7.3) unbuildable. The conflict is between BUILD/pcmcia-3.1.28/clients/pcilynx_stub.c and /usr/src/linux/drivers/ieee1394/hosts.c, where the latter has changed since kernel-source-2.4.18.SuSE-0.i386.rpm. The Documentation/Changes file specifies pcmcia-cs-3.1.21 as the minimum version for this kernel so, apparently, the Changes file is out of date. Guess I could go out and get the pcmcia-cs-3.1.33 sources from SourceForge (and craft up a spec file for it - ugh, more work), but then I'd be missing SuSE's patches. I've used the pcmcia-cs package before (under SuSE 7.0 for my Tulip-based CardBus enet NIC), and it seemed to work ok. Any ideas? Thanks! Phil -- Philip Amadeo Saeli SuSE Linux 7.3 psaeli@zorodyne.com
