I have done a nice clean install of SuSE8, making sure that libpng is included. During the configure bit of building MPlayer, it quits with the error that libpng is not installed. I have read through the configure.log and the bit about png says this: ============= Checking for PNG support ================ #include <png.h> #include <string.h> int main(void) { printf("png.h : %s\n", PNG_LIBPNG_VER_STRING); printf("libpng: %s\n", png_libpng_ver); return (strcmp(PNG_LIBPNG_VER_STRING, png_libpng_ver)); } gcc /tmp/mplayer-conf-17427-8919.c -o /tmp/mplayer-cong-9558-8919.o -lpng -lz -lm /tmp/mplayer-conf-17427-8919.c:1: png.h: No such file or directory ldd /tmp/mplayer-conf-9558-8919.o lddlibc4: cannot read header from '/tmp/mplayer-conf-9558-8919.o' Result is: no ######################################### No I have verified that I do have PNG support... I can display and manipulate PNGs fine in SuSE8. I have checked the install agains SuSE7.3 and it compiles fine there... it fails in 8.0. So, any suggestions? What shoudl I be looking for to get this compiling kick started? C.
