It seems that SuSE failed to, forgot to or just left out the DRI files 
needed to get 3D operational in 8.0 I believe.  Someone from SuSE here 
can elaborate on this I am sure.

If you have the 7.3 XFree86 rpms and DRI rpms, I believe you can use 
those to regain your 7.3 like settings in 8.0?  Someone correct me if I 
am mistaken here.  If you don't have the latest, they are available on 
the ftp site for download.  I believe -64 was the last build and are 
some of the same ones included in 8.0 too.
