I know opera depends on qt-2.x whereas kde3 depends on qt-3.x. It could
be that the qt2 that is installed does not have XFT support compiled
in. This would explain why it works with kde3 and not with opera, but I
can't explain why it doesn't work with netscape.
You might also do a:
> echo $QT_XFT
As long as it is set to something it should be alright. Try running
netscape or opera from a shell and see if any error messages come out.
