Hi,

Thanks for answering. I have had the same experience. I have heard from a few
people that the Alsa driver don't work with this sound card. Some have had
success with the older oss drivers. I have heard that the best solution is
the proprietary drivers from opensound.com, but I tried to install them with
8.0 and got the message that the drivers were not compatible with that
kernel.

Anyway, I will let you know if I find a solution. It seems there are a good
number of people out there going around in circles over this problem.
