Thanks all who responded. I have done clean installs on this drive before w/ no problems, so that's probably the way I'll go (not to mention I'm a little impatient to get 8.0 on.....:) Mike ------------------------------------------ Cleary_Mike@emc.com ------------------------------------------ "A wink is as good as a nod to a blind horse.: - anon -----Original Message----- From: Mark Hounschell [mailto:markh@compro.net] Sent: Thursday, April 25, 2002 3:47 PM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: Re: [SLE] Low-level format question: (Stepping outside the "Polish That Disk" thread) Cleary_Mike@emc.com wrote:

No, there really is no need to do this at all. Your 8.0 will install just fine right over the top of whatever is already there. Just make sure the install does a format of the partitions you want a clean install on and you'll be fine. regards mark -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com
