Have you tried the option, safe install (or something like it)? I had to do that when I loaded 7.3 onto my Dell 4100 laptop. dj tuchler On Mon, 2002-04-22 at 12:34, Peter VanCampen wrote:
Hello List members,
I have a machine that has SuSE 7.2 installed and running fine. When I boot from the 8.0 CD or the boot diskettes created from the 8.0 CD1 the machine freezes up early in the install process.
It always hangs up just after selecting the language, when it is checking the HD modules.
Here is the WEIRD Part: This same machine works perfectly OK when I boot from the 7.2 CD !!
This seems to involve the SCSI module for the Adaptec 2940 UW . Is this a real bug? Can I do anything
to get the 8.0 upgrade installed?
Thanks! .................PeterB
