This is fine for a kernel downloaded from kernel.org, but this guy is using Hubert Mantel's 2.4.18 kernel, which already has ALSA 0.9 integrated and installed. A source install of 0.5 may fail under his setup, breaking his sound altogether. Besides, he's trying to find out what 8.0 is going to be like, and it will use ALSA 0.9. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8uyFE+FOexA3koIgRAtrFAJ9L3DZK/7dc5FvFUUm0g71kJ2CpJACgjZI+ 5GfVu16kybDyOMZYOVSzFT8= =p4OX -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
