Yes, that is the router. The message subject is slightly confusing. I changed it to Win 98 LAN now, as this originally started out as a side thread to another posting. Here is my setup:
Connecting computer: Dual boot Win 2000 Pro and SuSE 7.3 Pro. 3 other computers: Win 98 SE (UK)
I can connect to the 3 computers with Win 2000 Pro, no problem. That suggests that cables, router, etc. are setup correctly. With SuSE boot, it is impossible to connect to the 3 other computers using smbclient. It has been suggested that there is something with my network setup (LAN) that is configured incorrectly on the SuSE side, but I simply can't find out what that is. WAN works fine on SuSE. I can access the Internet, send e-mail, browse the WWW with no problem.
Yeah that wouldn't be a network problem. I unfortunately have no experience with smbclient as I have only used Samba from windows. What kind of errors are you seeing? From my understanding smbclient is just a mount with smb specific options.
