I use my machine for production, and the only safe way I've found to do such a significant upgrade *safely* is to wipe it clean and reinstall. That's why I'm waiting till 8. I want to have the sequence of installation to avoid problems but I forgot to tell you that I to have both kde2 and kde3 on the computer and to make kde3 available in kdm at login time. I want that a user can use kde2 or kde3 and I don't just want kde3.
