happened to me... I was looking for XF86Config in the *body* of /etc, but
That XF86Config is for X version 3...
SaX2 had put it in /etc/X11... Do a ' find *XF86Conf* ' and look for the date
That one is for version 4... I don't see why both are present, it should only keep the relevant one... I had the same problem with making manual changed to the one in /etc
giving you the result you expect, try SaX (without the '2', the old one).
I haven't tried that before because I thought SaX only configured for version 3 of X... DoPo
