Hello everyone. Can someone tell me what's the trick to get FTPD to log access? the man page says to use the -S option. I'm assuming that would go in the FTP line in /etc/inetd.conf, but that doesn't work. Am I missing something obvious? Not so obvious?
It should already be logging to /var/log/xferlog, at least it does on my 7.1 box using the SuSE-supplied proftpd.
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant anonymous FTP access. Anyway, I don't have a /var/log/xferlog file. What's up with that?
I highly recommend using proftpd instead of wuftpd. It's in the n2 directory on the 7.3 dvd. You can change it in /etc/inetd.conf Proftpd has a config file, /etc/proftpd.conf, which is very Apache-like, and allows you to finely tune what's logged and what format it's in. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8qwm3+FOexA3koIgRAgZ7AJ0R/8xNPU8lpdr64tev0OyL4Sh+TACgklqd BvZMTTKYJEoQYqe0vWmOte8= =ACUy -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
