Hello everybody,
I try to connect a Sharp Zaurus SL5500G (german version) to a Linux (SuSE 7.3) Desktop computer.
I patched the kernel 2.4.16 of my SuSE Linux with the patch available at http://www.ruault.com/Zaurus/patches/ . The patch for kernel 2.4.17 seems to
work with SuSE kernel 2.4.16 too.
If I insert the Zaurus in the cradle usbdnet and CDCEther will be loaded automaticly.
After that I configured the network as followed (http://www.ruault.com/Zaurus/ethernet-over-usb-howto.html):
ifconfig usb0 192.168.129.200 netmask 255.255.255.255 up route add -host 192.168.129.201 usb0
Then I tried ping 192.168.129.201 and it worked well.
how did you configure the pda ip? on the pda i am trying on the 5000 but i can't ping the darn sucker But, if I start the Linux Qtopia-Desktop (Downloaded from
http://www.ZaurusZone.com) the following error occured in its status bar: "Retrieving unknown status from Qtopia". The IP address in Qtopia-Desktop for the PDA is set correct. Maybe this version of Qtopia-Desktop for Linux don't
work with SL5500G. Someone knows about this? Is there a newer version of Qtopia-Desktop for Linux available?
