Hi Terry, I suggest you have a look at apcupsd. They have a section in their manual on using the USB interface titled "Apcupsd's Support for USB UPSes". I'm using the serial interface cable so cannot comment on how well it works. http://www.apcupsd.org/ You will also find a mailing list and archives on this site which may assist you.
