I had numerous problems with the NVIDIA drivers and both RH 7.2 and SuSE 7.3. Problems now seem to be solved by upgrading the SuSE kernel to 2.4.18 and XFree86 to 4.2. Upgraded the kernel using the mantel kernel at ftp.suse.de/pub/people/mantel (think that is the correct address). Most of the time it is while I am using the mouse wheel in Mozilla, but just today I got one while typing in a gnome-terminal window. Also, when I shutdown the machine, about half of the time the entire machine locks up with bizarre colors on the screen as X is shutting down. I'm running: SuSE 7.2 Pro NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-2313 NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2313 xf86-4.0.3-35 Kernel-Win4Lin3-SuSE7.2smp_2.4.4-03 NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2313 Right now YOU is refusing my attempts to upgrade. The Win4Lin kernel is no longer necessary (VMWare 3.0 runs excellently on an SMP machine), so I can ditch that if I need to. One other odd thing I've noticed: occasionally the mouse pointer will go flying across the screen in either a horizontal or vertical direction, while I'm not touching the mouse. :-) The mouse config is Option "Protocol" "imps/2" Any known problems with the above?
