I no longer can connect to my root webser with localhost

when i try from the outside i get "USERNAME phpadmin authorization failure
localhost"

and i just tried from withing the network and it all does is try to save
the file....

there is 2 things i did that i suspect could be the reason.... 

1) i upgraded the libz package

2) i remember deleting 2 entries from mysql/user table.....

please help
