The correct /etc/apsfilterrc... file is
/etc/apsfilterrc.y2prn_SPOOLQUEUE.upp
where 'SPOOLQUEUE' is 'lp' for the standard printer queue or, if you
configured another printer queue, the name of that queue.

Where is the apsilterrc.y2prn:xxx.upp in SuSE 7.3. I did a locate but can't
find it, although my Lexmark z32 prints fine (without the € symbol though).

Sorry but I know that there was a long discussion if and how to get the
euro sign written and shown with Kde I belief.
Was there a final conclusion about the correct setup?
Your best bet is to read these pages:
http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/jkoeke_euro.html
http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/jkoeke_foreign_euro.html
Everything should work (and you can type the Euro symbol - €€€) if you
follow the instructions on one of these pages.
