This thread is very interesting and helpful. I'm a Capital 1 customer too,
but haven't tried to reach their tech people. To take the lazy way out, I
shuffle to another room to a winxp machine to browse there.
My netscape browser on my Linux station doesn't display fonts as nicely as
the xp does. Plus it's not all OS and browser fault. xp has the new Mag 19"
monitor and I got relegated the older 17" monitor. So some of it is just
monitor performance, in my case. I need to spend some time getting the fonts
to look better. Copy some TT fonts over. Is there a short answer to what
'anti-alias' is in terms of font? It seems like such a non-descriptive,
non-intuitive term to me.
I bank with my credit union and they're going to web based online banking
and leaving their 1-800 # and terminal access on March 1. I have no idea how
that will play out in terms of browser access. I thought the 800# was so
much more secure than a web interface. The 800 number even worked calling it
from Germany last summer. Seems to me like they're moving backwards. But
they think they're moving forwards.

->good job of testing for compatibility with other browsers.
It's not that it doesn't work. I made a user.js and put it in my .mozilla directory that forced Mozilla to tell the server it was MSIE 5.5 and it works fine at Capital One..What's happening is that the server is querying for user-agent strings and it's rejecting you based on that and nothing else..the site prolly works with Mozilla..but the lazyass webmasters think it won't and don't test it. As I said in my last email..the tech support at Capital One flat out said Netscape 6.X and Mozilla are not capable of 128bit SSL connections. With developers that damn stupid maybe we should just shut the webdown and go outside.
