Hi.. I have a new machine with 2 drives and am running SuSE and Debian on hdb 1 and 2...hda had winxp and RedHat 7.2 already installed and I want to be rid of RedHat and install SuSE in it's place...this is what it looks like Command (m for help): p Disk /dev/hda: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 4866 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 1 6 48163+ 83 Linux /dev/hda2 * 7 2382 19085188+ c Win95 FAT32 (LBA) /dev/hda3 2383 2509 1020127+ 82 Linux swap /dev/hda4 2510 4866 18932602+ f Win95 Ext'd (LBA) /dev/hda5 2510 4866 18932571 83 Linux I would like to know why hda4 and hda5 have the same start and end and if I reformat hda5 to put SuSE on will it affect the XP pro that is running on hda2 Also will SuSE pick up the boot sector and write it to hda1.......My wife needs windows so I do not want to lose it...... -- Regards Ted Wager SuSE Linux
