in /etc/modules.conf add the lines alias eth0 3c59x alias eth1 tulip then do depmod -av now in /etc/rc.config find a line like NETCONFIG="_0" and set it to NETCONFIG="_1" and then a few lines below that make some changes to look like the following # # IP Adresses # IPADDR_0="xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" IPADDR_1="yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy" IPADDR_2="" IPADDR_3="" # # network device names (e.g. "eth0") # NETDEV_0="eth0" NETDEV_1="eth1" NETDEV_2="" NETDEV_3="" IFCONFIG_0="xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx broadcast xxx.xxx.xxx.255 netmask 255.255.255.0 up" IFCONFIG_1="yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy broadcast yyy.yyy.yyy.255 netmask 255.255.255.0 up" IFCONFIG_2="" IFCONFIG_3="" (of course replace the xxx and yyy with your ip addresses) save the file, and run SuSEconfig, then do rcnetwork restart rcroute start and see what that does for you You said:
Ok, I have suse 7.2 Card 1, 3c59x (external) Card 2, Linksys 10/100 [tulip] (internal)
I can insmod the card that doesn't work, and it works, but if I reboot, it seams that the card I insmod is the only one working, and the other one isn't working. And yes, this will be a sorta firewall.
any tips on where to start? I've done so much tinkinger my brain is fried.
