I have a related question.
QUESTION:
How can I set up equivalent "Docking Station" and "Mobile" profiles that would come up *at* or before login?
As per my previous answer try netenv it should solve this problem. It won't detect whether you have plugged into the docking station automatically, but at boot it brings up a menu which you can select how you wish to boot. It allows you to run scripts before the network is setup and to alter/replace the /etc/fstab file. I use this feature to change NFS mounts in my laptop depending if I'm at home or at work. http://netenv.sourceforge.net/
Similarly, I manually select between display on the LCD or display on the external monitor by pressing [Fn][F8] to cycle among LCD-only, both, and external-only. How can I get at these functions on the command line or in a config file?
Can't answer this question, someone else may have an answer. Regards, Graham Smith ----------------------------------------
