Hi, Instead of offering you some cheese with that whine, I recommend that you try the following: 0 20 * * * . /etc/profile && echo $PATH Of course you would replace the "0" and "20" with a time of your choice :) AND - there ARE reasons for NOT having the FULL path available in cron. Security is one of them. -tosi On M=E1n, 2002-02-18 at 13:06, Joseph Hobbs wrote:
That would work GREAT, if CRON ran the /etc/profile.=20 But it doesn't! =20 /etc/profile contains the following code which makes your pathing information a bit easier =20 PATH=3D/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/bin for DIR in ~/bin/$MACHINE ~/bin ; do test -d $DIR && PATH=3D$DIR:$PATH done =20 The result of this is (echo $PATH): =20 /sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/sbin:/root/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X1= 1R6/bin:/bin:/usr/games/bin:/usr/games =20 Using a test script, I echo'd PATH in my CRON script, and it looks like this: =20 /usr/bin:/bin =20 Any other ideas? =20 Joe =20 --- Joshua Lee

/etc/profile.local should work. =20 If that doesn't work try putting it in /etc/profile.local; and adding a=20 command to /etc/profile at the end to run /etc/profile.local (I don't have an=20 /etc/profile.local so I'm naively repeating the comment on top of=20 /etc/profile. ;-) ) --=20 You have a tendency to feel you are superior to most computers. =20 --=20 To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com =20 Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq and the archives at http://lists.suse.com =20 =20 =20 =20 =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Joseph Hobbs Ionic Productions LLC hobbsj@somecrazyfool.com =20
