Hi folks. I am running SuSE 7.3 prof. in a box with motherboard sound - AC'97. I've done a Google search and it seems a lot of people have had this problem, and that it is often related to mutes being turned on in the mixer or volumes being turned all the way down. I tried un-muting everything and turning up the volumes in alsamixer with no effect. /proc/asound/sndstat looks like this: Sound Driver: 3.8.2-980706 (ALSA v0.5.11 emulation code) Kernel: Linux Linux 2.4.10-4GB #1 Fri Sep 28 17:20:21 GMT 2001 i686 Config options: 0 Installed drivers: Type 10: ALSA emulation Card config: Intel ICH 82801BA at 0x9800, irq 5 Audio devices: 0: Intel ICH (DUPLEX) Synth devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG Midi devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG Timers: 7: system timer Mixers: 0: Avance Logic ALC200/200P The hardware works okay when I'm running windoze. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks a heap, Glen
