Linux cannot natively read encrypted DVD's. You need to get the DECss files, which (at least used to be) available from foreign countries. I have not tried to make this work, as yet, but it theoretically does. There have been a lot of Q's on the list about DVD's. I would not admit to having any such files, of course, since they're illegal in the USA. Wonderful free country we have here. --doug At 17:16 02/08/2002 -0500, Patrick wrote:

Hello I am considering the purchase of a new box with a network card and DVD reader.Never had any of them before . And would not like too many troubles installing them. I guided myself from several posts on the list for the choice of the various elements of the system, but I still have a few questions.
1) The vendor proposes a 3Com - 3c905 CTX network card. Will it work with SuSE 7.3 ? I saw it was not in the Yast2 list, though there were several 3Com cards . 2) As for DVDs , can any standard reader work , as for CDs ?
Thanks in advance.
