suse diary:
release of 7.3 ftp version
mirroring of it onto numerous sites.
bitching from tens of people that ftp installs don't work
suse denial for weeks that there are problems. It must be the user at fault.
final admission by suse that packages were faulty.
some mirrors detected the problem and remirrored
suse doesn't feel the need to alert mirror admins that they are spreading faulty packages
3 months later some ftp mirrors are still fscked and delivering faulty packages.
suse doesn't give a shit.

It was the problem with sumcheck, but by this time everything should be OK
