Hi!
I have SuSE Linux 7.3 Pro on my computer. I wanna install the NVidia driver for 3D acceleration. For that, the procedure tell us to close completely the graphical interface, KDE for me. I suppose that I must reboot in console mode only. How can I do that because the computer boots automatically in graphical. How just boot in console?
Well, to boot into console mode, you enter '3' on the lilo prompt after the "Linux" that's already there. But it's not necessary. Just log out of KDE, and press ctrl-alt-F1. That will bring you to a console login. Log in as root and run 'rcxdm stop'. After that, you're ready to install the NVidia drivers. regards Anders
