You can get Opera to identify itself as M$IE5 under File > Preferences > Network. The only site I've seen where it makes a difference is http://www.anadrom.com/ This is rather an amusing site anyway because it's owned by "web design uk and internet consultancy: anadrom ltd", who apparently know nothing at all about website design (they've only got one page ;-) but plenty about talking pish.
