That's pretty neat.  Let's not forget that Linux-2.4 *can* produce some
very verbose output concerning the motherboard.  I had a Tyan Trinity
400 (I forgot the actual model number), and dmesg showed nearly a full
page of data concerning the manufacturer, model, revision, and so forth.
