Check out the RPM-HOWTO in your /usr/share/doc/packages/rpm/ . That details the entire process. The majority of time is spent configuring and tweaking SPEC files (these files specify the name of the package, version, what files to include, how to compile, etc.). Once you have your SPEC file made, you just 'rpm -ba file.spec' and it will build. If you have any questions on this process, feel free to email me.
