Well, I changed permissions on my user directory but still no joy. It still must be a permission problem somewhere though...:( This seems to be a pretty common problem, so if someone else finds the answer, please let me know! I hate to bring this problem up again, but I have yet to be able to add items to the KDE start menu as a normal user. I can do it as root, which is actually an improvement - because I couldn't even do this in 7.2 (KDE 2.1.x I think). As a user, I can make the addition in kmenuedit, and you can see the change in kmenuedit, but it never appears in the start menu (even after re-booting).
