Those files look like libc.so.5 compatibility files. Install shlibs5 on suse, and from what I can see you seem to be good to go On Wednesday 12 December 2001 11.08, Jon Pennington wrote:
I'm trying to help someone convert from Red Hat to SuSE, but one of her mission-critical applications is Mathematica 4.1.2. According to Wolfram Research, publishers of Mathematica, there are issues with installing 4.1.2 on RHL 7.0 and up due to some missing files. Their FAQ page on the issue is here:

I downloaded the referenced fix-it RPM to examine it's contents, and found these files:
./lib/ ./lib/ld-linux.so.1 ./lib/ld-linux.so.1.9.5 ./lib/ld.so.1.9.5 ./lib/ld.so ./lib/libdl.so.1.9.5 ./usr/ ./usr/man/ ./usr/man/man1/ ./usr/man/man1/ldd.1.gz ./usr/man/man3/ ./usr/man/man3/dlclose.3.gz ./usr/man/man3/dlerror.3.gz ./usr/man/man3/dlopen.3.gz ./usr/man/man3/dlsym.3.gz ./usr/man/man8/ ./usr/man/man8/ld.so.8.gz ./usr/man/man8/ldconfig.8.gz
I looked for the libdl and ld.so files on RPMfind, but came up with not-very-recent information. How badly is it going to hurt a SuSE 7.3 box if this RPM is installed on her system as-is? What do you think would happen if it were installed in /usr/local instead of /?
