* Carl (quantum@ultra2k.com) [011211 13:11]: ->-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- ->Hash: SHA1 -> ->OK, will DL K2.2.2. I'd gathered on this listserv that it had bad problems. ->Thing is, I'm running the latest KOrganizer, and this is a key app for me. -> ->I'm just concerned about kernel 2.4.10 due to the VM problems. -> ->I have got to get this stabilized for investment banking work, as I'm the ->only one to rely on, and it's my living. I need to do real work. Well, the issue wasn't with KDE 2.2.2 it was with QT 2.3.2 which KDE uses. It's been fixed. I have had absolutely no issues with it since the updated QT package was posted about a week ago. As far as the kernel goes. I'm using these files from Hubert Mantel's directory on the ftp server and I have had EXTREMELY good luck with the 2.4.16 kernel. The VM usage is correct and I haven't seen any weird stuff at all. :) Go here: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/mantel/next/RPM Get these: k_deflt-2.4.16-14.i386.rpm kernel-source-2.4.16.SuSE-15.i386.rpm modutils.rpm Remember these are Huberts development kernels..so they aren't supported by SuSE the company. Myself and many others use Huberts kernels and 99% of the time have very good luck with them. But it is a "use at your own risk" type of thing...and I don't say that to scare you. I just want to you to know that if something gets screwed up in your install..you can't have my first born child as payment ;) Cheers! -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal" -AE
