* Keith Winston (lessthan0_98@yahoo.com) [011206 07:03]: ->I thought I pass on this observation... -> ->I have installed SuSe 7.3 twice (on different machines) as an ->upgrade to 7.2, and twice as a clean install. -> ->When I did the upgrade, there were several options missing in ->YaST2, including the NFS server/client setup tools and NIS tools ->under Advanced Networking. The appeared only when I did a clean ->install. Not sure why the upgrade to YaST didn't add them, but ->you might want to know if you are trying to decide whether to ->upgrade in place to do a clean install. This is most likely because these are all YaST2 modules and they just may not be installed. Go into the setup via yast1 and take a look in the yast2 rpm's section on the cd's. I'll be you'll find that they were not installed because it just updated the installed modules. This isn't a reason to do a fresh install..it's a reason to do a custom install to make sure you have what you wish to have. It's a reason to take control and not let SuSE's install routine figure out what you need. :) Cheers! -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal" -AE
