As a user, I'm more put off when my system crashes and won't reboot because something got overwritten. Microsoft has tried to "tame" their inability to control their own software platform by making some libraries and files untouchable, but it still doesn't remove the underlying problem. It's a tradeoff consideration. I know the Debian guys like to say RPM is hell versus Debian's dependencies, but I've also seen several Debian users toast their own systems with an apt-get update. GnoRPM works fine for me! The interface could be tweaked a little better though. IMHO, most people want traditional 3-pane, not this persistant tab crap that Gnome 1.x seems to favor. Again, just IMHO. ;-PPP -- The "RedHat bigot" BS P.S. Yes, I wish RedHat would license YaST.
