I thought the "4 5" referred to buttons 4 and 5 which are mapped
to the roll up and roll down actions on the wheel. I don't know
how to control the amount of scroll, but I'm following this
thread to see if someone else does.

Experiment with the ZAxisMapping. Im pretty sure, 4 is horizontal scroll and 5 is vertical scroll or vise versa.

and imwheel & in ~/.xinitrc.
