Message upon boot under 2.4.16 kernel

Hi,
booting i recve a message like this :
Register DEXE...binfmt /etc/init.d/boot > proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc/reg
file not found
Effectively doesn't exist. Impossible to create since impossible to
chmod binfmt_misc to enable the directory as +w.
Any idea (nevertheless the system works).
