Hi Nick Thank You for the answer. I know the problem with IDE/SCSI, my spouse has Promise Fast-Track IDE-raid and IDE disks on the same machine, and it took a while to get it working properly. But now I know that I can have both emulated and real SCSI disks.. Thanks! Jaska Viestissä Torstai 29. Marraskuuta 2001 08:52, Nick Webb kirjoitti:
No problem. I have an IDE CD-RW and SCSI hard drives / CD-ROM, do yourself a favor though and keep all IDE hard drives away from your system. It works okay, but every time I need to install lilo I get an error about the IDE drive being first, even though I boot from SCSI . . . if only SCSI hard drives were as cheep as IDE ones ;) Apparently IDE hard drives take precedence . . .

Hi
I have HP CD-writer, that uses emulated SCSI driver.
Currently the computer has Promise Fast-track 100 IDE-RAID.
I'm planning to change the IDE-RAID to Adaptec SCSI with IBM 10000 RPM HD.
Is there some conflict between a real SCSI and emulated SCSI, or do they work together okay?
Jaska.
