Hi I had Abit KT7 RAID with HPT370 chipset, and it was a pain in the ***.. Reason was, that Highpoint had only binary-drivers, and only for 2.2.16 and 2.4.0 kernels, so I had to downgrade the kernel. This brought some other problems with my SuSE 7.2. At last I got it working without any faults, but as said, it took a long long time to get there. Too much if You ask me now. And highpoint does NOT read any e-mails sent to them. So I would go to their web-site, and if there is not a driver for that chipset, distribution and kernel, I would say "forget it". I did find driver for RedHat 7.1 only in their web-site, so that means it does not have support directly for SuSE 7.2 or 7.3. This would be a no-no to me. I would not want to start playing around with initrd/kernel versions and problems with loading this binary with weird side-effects. Jaska. Viestissä Torstai 29. To all,
ABIT's new KR7A-RAID motherboard is finally available here where I live. For those don't know, the KR7A-RAID has VIA's new KT266A chipset and the HPT372 controller, which adds ATA 133 RAID support.
I would like to set this motherboard up using RAID 0 (striping) on SuSE (7.2 or 7.3). I was wondering if there are any known problems using this card with SuSE.
