Hi Mike!
When I added a+rw to /dev/sg0 everything worked.
I've tried mp3, mov, and ogg. They all work nicely.
I am going to stick with ogg. I downloaded lame-libs-3.89-1.i386.rpm
and installed it as root with yast. Two lib files appeared in
/usr/lib, the first a link to the second.
/usr/lib/libmp3lame.so.0 ---> /usr/lib/libmp3lame.so.0.0.0
Also, I made sure I was in the group 'disk' and that /media and
subdirs were root:disk with a+rw.
