I use SuSE 7.1, and have been happily upgrading kernels all the way to 2.4.14, downloading from kernel.org, and upgrading modutils when necessary. This week-end I downloaded the 2.4.15 patch and applied it, but was unablke to compile (make bzImage would fail). Today, I've applied the 2.4.16 patch, and this is the error message I get: sched.c: In function `schedule': sched.c:545: warning: passing arg 1 of `prefetchw' discards qualifiers from pointer target type sched.c:739: warning: label `scheduling_in_interrupt' defined but not used sched.c:736: label `move_rr_back' used but not defined sched.c:732: warning: label `move_rr_last' defined but not used sched.c:713: warning: label `recalculate' defined but not used make[2]: *** [sched.o] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.16/linux/kernel' make[1]: *** [first_rule] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.16/linux/kernel' make: *** [_dir_kernel] Error 2 I've checked all the minimal requirements, and upgraded GCC (the only thing that was not up to scratch) according to the following Changes file: o Gnu C 2.95.3 # gcc --version o Gnu make 3.77 # make --version o binutils 2.9.1.0.25 # ld -v o util-linux 2.10o # fdformat --version o modutils 2.4.2 # insmod -V o e2fsprogs 1.19 # tune2fs o reiserfsprogs 3.x.0j # reiserfsck 2>&1|grep reiserfsprogs o pcmcia-cs 3.1.21 # cardmgr -V o PPP 2.4.0 # pppd --version o isdn4k-utils 3.1pre1 # isdnctrl 2>&1|grep version Can anyone help, and tell me what the problem is?
