I think it goes wider than this, because I'm not using ide-scsi on the
machine I'm testing it on. I tend to think that a lot of the IO slaves
are actually "work-in-progress" - they may not work reliably on all
configurations. Somone else on the list mentioned Fish, an IO slave for
ssh, and when I couldn't get that working and asked the developers about
it, they suggested upgrading KDE from the stock 7.2 install. So it
probably depends a lot on versions and stuff whether a particular IO
slave will work.
