Please forgive me for forwarding this back to the list, but "many hands make light work." ;) At 02:50 AM 11/16/01, you wrote:

I understand. :) Fortunately, unlike most Microsoft and other operating systems, you can often fix whatever is broken with just a little bit of effort. ;)
/dev/zip /mnt/zip auto noauto,owner 0 0
Change this line. Where it says "auto" it should read "vfat" since this is the only filesystem type you use on the Zip disks. You may also need to change "owner" to "user" for the KDE option I mention below... If you wanted to make things even simpler, you could make a symlink in / to point to /mnt/zip, like this (as root): # cd / # ln -sf /mnt/zip . After making these two changes, mounting and unmounting your Zip drive would go like this: # mount /zip # umount /zip You can also configure the KDE desktop of a normal user (the user does not have to be root) to mount and unmount the disk simply by right-clicking on an icon. Somebody else will have to help you with this, though, since I'm not very familiar with KDE recently.
Any suggestion is welcome. Thank you again.
You only need to ask. Sometimes we don't know the answers, but that isn't because we aren't trying. ;) -- -=|JP|=- '01 B15 SE/PP | http://www.xanga.com/cowboydren/ | <))>< '95 SL2 Auto | cowboydren @ yahoo . com | _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
