7.3 install - no cursor

OK, so the 7.3 install went fine, with a few comments,
but the promary thing now is I have *no cursor*
It's there, I can tell with various things indicating on mouse-over,
but it's invisible. The XF86Config looks ok, as far as I can tell.
What have I missed?
