Hello,
When will SuSE stop f*cking with Postfix !
Their installations of it are crap as is well known
to anybody who reads the Postfix list.
They always need repairing to work properly.
Which is pretty amazing considering the simple procedure
Postfix has itself for installation.

This morning I update some things on my system with YOU,
I appear to have selected a Postfix update.

I have just written a half dozen emails.
None are deliverable because the Postfix "update" decided
to change my "main.cf" which is the master configuration
file for Postfix. It changed my masquerade settings, my
DNS lookup options and my hostname. This was not even
a simple case of a replacement, since some of the other
non-standard settings were left alone. No backup copy
was made.

SuSE *never* get Postfix installation correct, and it is
starting to piss a lot of people off.

There was the less than happy installation of a system they
had tweaked once, to change the wakeup time of a postfix
process from the normal 300 seconds to 5, causing my mail gateway to
waste CPU cycles like they were going out of fashion.

This is cc'ed to feedback.
I suggest they find someone to package Postfix who knows what
they are doing.

Cliff
