Since the instalation of Suse 7.2 right from the CD's, I have a WinTV card
which will not work.
Having read and reread the configuration chapter I finally stumbled on a
remark which said that "Suse has prepared the BTTV drivers" and that "the
required device files, (/dev/bttv*, /dev/video*) have already been created".
I have never doubted the correctness of this but just for the fun of it I
checked to see if it was right.
NO /dev/bttv nor /dev/video.
Could somebody inform me if this is some misstake which happened during my
instalation ? How can I repair this situation? Could it be the reason for the
KwinTV not working at all? I know of problems with sound but no TV at all?
If I make these dev files, is there some content which should be put into
them?
The card is correctly recognized and there seems nothing amiss with it. As I
am windows free I can not check it on such a system ;-).
